Karpacz is a town located in Karkonosze in a valley of Łomnica and its tributaries at the foothill of Śnieżka Mountain at the height of 480 to 885m AMSL. The area of Karpacz is claimed to be the most attractive part of the eastern mountain range.
The town is located along a 7-kilometer- long street that leads to the Bierutowicka Pass. When housing development in the Karpacz municipality is concerned, there is Main Karpacz, Płuczki, Wilcza Poręba, Skalne Osiedle and Brzezie Karkonoskie. In the vicinity of Karpacz, numerous tourist routes are located: one leads around the Cirques of Wielki and Mały Staw, one is cross border route called “Post-glacial Heritage of Karkonosze” [“Polodowcowe dziedzictwo Karkonoszy”], there is a route called „ Silesian Route to Śnieżka” [“Śląska droga na Snieżkę”] and a route leading through the eastern part of Karkonosze. It’s worth mentioning that the town is 110 km away from the capital of Lower Silesia – Wrocław.
